Hello, I’m Sophie
I work as a project manager. I’m a parent. I’m an expat based in Zürich, Switzerland.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter living overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many international relocations, it started with a job opportunity and grew into something far bigger.
The first months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, uncertainty, and hands-on learning were part of it. Over time, routines settled in. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began to create something that felt steady.
Why I Built Rumble Harbor Leaf
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow travel content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that void — practical advice drawn from real life in Switzerland.
